acclaimed theatre greats Sir Antony Sher and John Kani are set to take the stage at Cape Town's Baxter Theatre in January in the world premier of an African version of William Shakespeare's The Tempest.

The production, which is a historic collaboration between the Baxter Theatre Centre and the Royal Shakespeare Company, will run from January 15 to February 6.

Award-winning South Afric-an theatre director Janice Honeyman will direct multiple award-winning South African actors Sher as Prospero and Kani as Caliban - together on stage for the first time.
