Outliving your enemies. (Briefing).

Mario Mazzola, chief development officer at Cisco, recalls reading a book by the renowned German scientist Max Planck, in which Planck wrote that, when it comes to controversial ideas, either you're proven wrong or your opponents eventually die out, and you're proven right. Mazzola believed, in 1982, in the controversial idea of combining voice PBXs and data networks. It looks like he may get to see his opponents--or at least their ideas--die out.

Enterprise voice over IP is one of four areas where Cisco sees growth potential even in the current bad economic climate, and Mazzola recently sat down with BCR to discuss these glimmers of hope and other topics of the moment.
