The Swiss League has opened a disciplinary case against Lucerne forward Hakan Yakin for possible violent conduct against Neuchatel Xamax forward Raphael Nuzzolo.
The league says it will give a ruling by Thursday after studying television pictures of last Sunday's incident, which was missed by the match referee.
Seconds later, Switzerland international Yakin provided the assist as Lucerne took the lead during a 4-2 win.
The incident has prompted Neuchatel to write asking the Swiss Football Association referees' commission that foreign officials are used to take charge of its matches.
